Nestled in the lush northwestern hills of America’s Dairy Land, you’ll find Wissota Lake, located near Chippewa Falls, WI; the hometown of our founders, and name of our beloved venue. Wissota Lake was formed by the construction of the Wissota Hydroelectric Dam on the Chippewa River, completed in 1917. The dam was built by the Wisconsin-Minnesota Light and Power Company. An engineer on the project, Louis G. Arnold, named the lake by combining the beginning of “Wisconsin” and the ending of “Minnesota”.
Over the years our founder has always enjoyed taking part in the food and beverage industry and has a wide array of experience inthe field including the development, and direct oversight of fine dining restaurants, banquet facilities, craft beer bars, and other food focused venues.
With the primary focus on hotels, they decided to bring the first Wissota Chophouse to their hometown Chippewa Falls in 2016, Wisconsin, in the Cobblestone Hotel and Suites downtown; a casual dining experience blended with elegance. Now, eight years later, Wissota Franchising is growing to five states with 12 locations open or under construction.
Wissota Chophouse is known for succulent high-end steaks and rich sea food, a classy yet modern atmosphere for gathering and socialization, specials highlighting seasonal favorites, comforting sharables sure to please, innovative a la carte sides, and some of the finest desserts around. A thoughtfully lined up selection of over 20 glasses of wine, 20 beers on tap, beer bottle selection, and a variety of spirits are available and can be enjoyed on the patio.
Chippewa Falls is also the home of Leinenkugel Brewing Company and is a staple in each Wissota Chophouse location with two to three hometown brews on tap.
Wissota Chophouse has become a local favorite where people come to eat, drink, socialize, and celebrate some of the most enjoyable moments in life.
